[Expansion of an existing school building]

The project spans a large urban spatial arc and distributes necessary new buildings to the edges of the plots, thus releasing a landscape in between that has the appearance of a campus.

This ambitious plan is underpinned by a distinctive architectural language that succeeds in generating cohesion across the distances.

The generosity of the park-like open spaces suggests both lively educational activity and intensive community use.

While the new buildings appear appropriate due to their simple ground plan logic, the existing school building presents a more complex picture of organization. Here, class-based domiciliation is overcome in favor of a fluidity of learning spaces and gathering spaces, requiring ambitious school practices.
