Firmament / 2020

The Firmament is the result of finding the shape of a self-supporting structure, purely with beam bars that transmit only compressive forces in the nodes.

The structure, resembling an eye in plan, serves as a pavilion that can be walked in a circle. Textile surfaces complete the wooden structure to form a canopy and behave in a wind-stable manner due to their double-curved manner.

A radial upward movement is represented by the rods arranged twice in a circle, facing the sky and supporting each other, symbolizing the simultaneity of infinity and evolution.
